I can be rather harsh on things I like. I like my hometown. I wish it was better in some aspects and so I nitpick. There are some really ugly parts of the city. There are some nice ones, too. 

This is the part where I toss out clichés on learning to love things for what they are. 

I’ll skip that and just say I had a great time in my hometown this weekend. The credit goes to our friends from Dallas. Walking downtown with a fresh pair of eyes helped me see the good stuff again. 

So thanks to them and to beer and to whiskey.
